Visitors

We host visiting dignitaries, such as Ministers of State from Ireland, or the Ambassador from Canberra.  We endeavour to ensure that these guests get to see the spirit and flavour of our group - family-oriented, enthusiastic, welcoming and friendly - and are able to take away some memory of what we hope is always a pleasant time.

A special highlight was the visit to our premises by the President of Ireland Mary McAleese and her husband Dr McAleese on 30 October 2007.

Music Sessions,

As often as we can we like to hold music sessions.  The attendance at these varies as the people with musical abilities or expertise waxes and wanes.  They are often a feature of Friday evenings, and the emphasis is on participation and fun.

Christmas parties

Each year we mark the festive season with parties for the adults and the kids, and join the annual Parade through the centre of Hutt City.

After all, we have to enter into the spirit of the season!

Gaelic Football

We are closely linked with the Hutt Valley / Wellington GAA

A number of our members belong to both!

Old-Fashioned Ceili

A fun event for young and old, requiring little skill but plenty of enthusiasm

An HVIS Feis

When all else fails, we hold our own Feis, with our youngsters taking centre-stage.

Festival of Irish Films

In Association with Light House Cinema, Petone, we have staged a Festival of Irish Films
