St Patrick's Day
St Patrick's Day is a high point in the life of all Irish societies,
around the world.
March 17 each year is a busy time, as we celebrate what is Ireland's
National Day in the style in which the Hutt Valley Irish Society
excels.
We generally open by mid-day, serving lunch, and then on
right throughout the day until we all have to go home the
following morning!
In 2007 we had a little late-afternoon Shenanigans to get
us moving. Those who were at the last Rose Ball will know
what a grand band they are! We also had a dancing display
from the Delaney School and then Banjo-vi (Kieran, Trevor
& Adrian) help us stretch our vocal chords through the
evening.
It was grand craic! And we have a few pictures to remind
us!
And "a little bit of Ireland
in the Heart of Lower Hutt".
Another St Patrick’s Day at the HVIS! Enough said.
If you missed this year, you missed out; make sure you don’t next
year.
After all, it's never too early to be Irish !!
