Rose of Tralee National Final

The 2009 final was hosted by the Hutt Valley Irish Society over the weekend of June 12-14. Seven young women competed for the honour of being the New Zealand Rose of Tralee, to succeed Aislinn Ryan.

The winner, and New Zealand Rose of Tralee for 2009 was:

The 2009 Roses

Geraldine enters the Ball Katrina makes her entrance Rosanna was out to enjoy herself Lucy and escort looked every inch the part Amy made a stylish entry Lisa was enjoying herself Aislinn has done this before The Roses are ready to PARTY The judges still had interviews to watch before it was decision-time A display of dancing from local dancers ... ... who then grabbed the Roses for a fling ... ... sans shoes! And then it was time for MC Roy to interview the Roses on stage ... one last chance to impress the judges After which Shenanigans did what they do best - got the crowd on their feet and dancing Aislinn wished all the Roses well And then the announcement was made: Lisa Monaghan of Invercargill is the 2009 Rose and donned the Tiara and winners sash to the delight of her aunt Rachel (herself a Rose a few years earlier)
